چکیده

Long-term effects of organic and conventional farming systems in parallel on the microbiota boreal arable soil from forage cereal crop fields were investigated. Microbial activity was measured as basal respiration microbial biomass C N determined by fumigation extraction. abundance gene copy numbers bacterial archaeal specific 16S rRNA genes fungal ITS2 region with quantitative PCR. community composition for bacteria fungi, including arbuscular mycorrhiza, conducted amplicon sequencing richness assessed OTU reads. We detected changes both between systems. higher system rotation compared to respective system. In autumn, had richness. As fungi more abundant they may be responsible sequestration their after harvesting, especially rotation. Also, type cow manure explained composition. The typical included many plant health promoting groups. Fungi benefiting practices, other than manure, include endophytic taxa a variety functions well pathogenic mycotoxin producing species. Overall, results suggest that practices farming, such use green continuous cover have induced microbiome.

Soil Microbiome Is More Heterogeneous in Organic Than in Conventional Farming System

Organic farming system and sustainable management of soil pathogens aim at reducing the use of agricultural chemicals in order to improve ecosystem health. Despite the essential role of microbial communities in agro-ecosystems, we still have limited understanding of the complex response of microbial diversity and composition to organic and conventional farming systems and to alternative methods...

Understanding the Impacts of Soil, Climate, and Farming Practices on Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration: A Simulation Study in Australia

Carbon sequestration in agricultural soils has the capacity to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to improve soil biological, physical, and chemical properties. The review of literature pertaining to soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics within Australian grain farming systems does not enable us to conclude on the best farming practices to increase or maintain SOC for a specific combina...

Soil fertility and biodiversity in organic farming.

An understanding of agroecosystems is key to determining effective farming systems. Here we report results from a 21-year study of agronomic and ecological performance of biodynamic, bioorganic, and conventional farming systems in Central Europe. We found crop yields to be 20% lower in the organic systems, although input of fertilizer and energy was reduced by 34 to 53% and pesticide input by 9...

Comparing organic versus conventional soil management on soil respiration

Soil management has great potential to affect soil respiration. In this study, we investigated the effects of organic versus conventional soil management on soil respiration.  We measured the main soil physical-chemical properties from conventional and organic managed soil in Ecuador. Soil respiration was determined using alkaline absorption according to Witkamp.  Soil properties such as organi...
